Christmas Lantern

Hi everyone, Adriana here again, well its nearly time for the festive season, only four weeks to go until the big day!!
Today and I am sharing a special project that I have created
with new release products from
Couture Creations - Ultimate Crafts -
"It's Beginning to look like Christmas".
Using the - ULT158328 Stained Glass Background die.

I created a paper Christmas Lantern, this would look lovely for display, it is completed made of paper, so I place a battery operated candle inside the lantern, its looks like a candle glowing but its fake.

To create the Christmas Lantern here is my step by step and list of all the products is at the end of this blog post.

***

Cut 4 panels of the ULT158328 Stain Glass Window Die with white card stock.

With Washi tape attach all the 4 sides together.

Also cut 4 panels of clear Acetate - one for each window slightly smaller than the finished side edges.

Apply on each panel of clear acetate some
Anna Griffin White Gesso - CO724871
with a sponge applicator, and while this is still wet
place a wet baby wipe over the acetate with gesso, take the baby wipe off
and leave the acetate sheet to dry.
The end results in a frosted panel of acetate.

Adhere each frosted panel of acetate inside each side of the stained Glass die.

Using another small sheet of clear Acetate and
Glitter Glue - Glitzin Glamour Crystallina CO721971
Create snow/ice falling icicles, leave to dry before peeling them off the acetate

and attach these snow to the bottom of the stained glass windows with glue.

Cut several ULT158325 Cardinal & Flourish decorative die with
Card stock - ULT200039 Battle Fatigue
for the flourish and adhere some Christmas flowers

TO create a four sided top for the lantern with white card stock
use the template that I have drawn below as a guide.

Cut 4 of the above with white card stock.

Place cut out triangle with flaps in the CR900130 Checker Plate Embossing folder and run this through your die cutting machine.
Score on folds at each end and glue each end to the other sides of the triangles to create your dome.

Cut four - CO724757 On the Edge Die - Cleo Die with white card stock, trim where required and glue to the bottom edges.

NOTE: the top part of the lantern is loose and should just sit on top of the box, you may need to trim the inside flaps slightly so that it sits neatly on top of the box.

Decorate with flowers and vines die cuts.

PLEASE NOTE:  I used a battery operated candle , please do not attempt using
a real tea light candle - as the whole project is made of paper.
